Schematic Design phase

In the Schematic Design phase, we will study options for space layouts, building form and appearance, and general material, fixture, and equipment selections.


Design Tasks

Detailed documentation of existing conditions
Project-specific review of local zoning and permitting requirements
Building code review
Study and document options for space layouts and building form and appearance.
Coordination with design and engineering consultants and contractor (as applicable)
Update budget and schedule
 

Information from Owner

Executed Design Fee Proposal / Owner/Architect Agreement
Approval of Predesign project scope, budget, and schedule
Existing site plan / survey (Owner to hire surveyor if a current survey is not available)
 

Proposed Meetings

Schematic Design Meetings - Present options for space layouts and building form and appearance.

Schematic Design Products Meeting - Discuss general material, fixture, and equipment selections.

Schematic Design Coordination Meeting - Meet with consulting engineers, interior designer, landscape designer, contractor, etc. (as applicable).

Schematic Design Review Meeting - Present Schematic Design drawings, specifications, budget, and schedule for review and approval
