Design Development phase

In the Design Development phase, we will refine the approved space layout and building appearance, define detailed design criteria for each space, and make specific material, fixture, and equipment selections.


Design Tasks

Refine design of building exterior
Create Room Criteria Sheets
Design and layout lighting, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, HVAC equipment, and accessories (towel racks, mirrors, etc.).
Layout structural framing
Coordination with design and engineering consultants and contractor (as applicable)
Update budget and schedule

Approval of Schematic Design space layout, building form, budget, and schedule
 

Proposed Meetings

Design Development Meetings - Define detailed design criteria for each room. Present design and layout of lighting, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, HVAC equipment, and accessories (towel racks, mirrors, etc.).

Design Development Products Meeting - Discuss specific material, fixture, and equipment selections. Discuss door hardware functions.
Design Development Coordination Meeting - Meet with consulting engineers, interior designer, landscape designer, contractor, etc. (as applicable).

Design Development Review Meeting - Present Design Development drawings, specifications, budget, and schedule for review and approval
